House Is Back - EllJay Mix

[Intro]

Funny thing about a feeling...

You can bury it under years, rename it, rearrange it.

Give it the right rhythm and it'll remember you.

[Verse 1]

I came in late, left my plans at the door,

heard something familiar I'd never heard before.

A little four-to-the-floor, a little more to the soul,

suddenly the room had somewhere to go.

I know this feeling, or maybe it knows me,

found me in the dark where I thought I used to be.

One sound became a second, then the second found the third,

before I had a sentence the whole room found the word.

Walls are talking in a language made of light,

everybody moving like they finally got it right.

No invitation, no explanation,

just vibration turning hesitation into celebration.

[Pre-Chorus]

Maybe I lost it, maybe it left,

maybe a good thing just needed a breath.

Maybe the old ways weren't old at all,

maybe we just needed a reason to recall.

[Chorus]

Something's coming back, I can feel it in the floor,

like a key in a lock I've forgotten what it's for.

Something's coming back, knocking at the door,

I thought I'd heard that feeling but I've never heard it like this before.

Oh-oh, there it is, there it is.

Oh-oh, right where the feeling lives.

Call it a revival, call it what you want,

I call it coming home.

House is back.

[Drop]

Back to the beat, back to the beginning,

back to the reason we started listening.

Round goes the record, round goes the room,

old soul, new skin, make a little room.

Oh-oh-oh, make a little room.

Oh-oh-oh, here we go again.

[Verse 2]

I've been chasing sounds that were waiting in the walls,

turning little accidents into something after all.

A wrong note became a right one,

a mistake became a style,

funny how the broken things can make you stay a while.

I make another track, then another takes its place,

every ending leaves a doorway, every silence leaves a trace.

There's a hunger in the making, there's a madness in the mix,

when the almost becomes something and the something starts to stick.

New hands, same fire.

New names, old desire.

Different decade, same elevation,

music doesn't die, it changes its location.

[Bridge]

Home isn't always somewhere.

Sometimes it's a frequency.

A familiar unfamiliarity.

A rhythm in your ribcage you recognise before your mind does.

Maybe that's why we keep making music,

not to make something new,

but to make something ancient feel new again.

Turn it up.

Let it in.

Let it begin.

[Build]

Back to the feeling.

Back to the rhythm.

Back to the part of us that never really left.

Oh-oh-oh...

House is back.

[Final Chorus]

Back to the beat, back to the feeling,

back to the part of us that music keeps revealing.

Nothing really disappears, it only changes form.

Back to the beat, back to the beginning,

back to the reason we started listening.

Oh-oh-oh, we're coming home.

[Outro]

Maybe it never left.

Maybe we did.

But listen... there it is.

House is back.
